Well I locked up the other topic, asking which director you'd all like, since now we have no say in the matter ;D (not like we had much say to begin with, lol) So here you may talk about the director, Guillermo del Toro! His previous work, if you're a fan or a hater. Or to find out a bit more about him if you've never heard of him

I'm like everyone else...I want Peter Jackson to direct! But I guess Guillermo Del Toro won't be too bad if Peter Jackson's going to be helping him. But wouldn't it be a shame if they don't make The Hobbit because of all the money issues with New Line?

Guillermo was interviewed recently, and he was asked breifly about the Hobbit, here's what he said-
Personally, the way he talk's about the process in third answer. It make me SO much more sure then I already was that he'll be amazing in this job! ;D ;D He really is a director get's soo deeply involved in his projects. He becomes like part of them! I'll explain more in another post later

I definitely agree with you on the dedication part! He seriously sounds like he's 120% ready to tackle what may become the biggest film production of all time (second only to the LotR trilogy). And with PJ watching his back at every turn, how could he go wrong? ;D *KNOCKS ON WOOD* Couldn't hurt.

And don't forget... *crosses fingers, eyes, arms, and legs* But there's been no news about the status of the lawsuit, right? They better work something out soon or else most or all of us are going to storm the gates of the Tolkien estate with torches and demand a sacrifice.

Here's a little news, possibly what we have been waiting for! Well, maybe not entirely, but it's something! This was just posted today, so at least it's the LATEST!! In Del Toro's own words, we could know the fate of "The Hobbit" in less than FOUR days!!! www.theonering.net/torwp/2008/04/21/28704-28704/
