(time for a shiny new topic because it's 1:30 in the morning and Steven's brain is active)
so we had Enya, Emiliana Torrini, and Annie Lennox create and sing theme songs for the original trilogy do we think we'll get the same treatment for The Hobbit's credit scenes? and if so - who do you think would be a good match?

That's a hard one considering I can't imagine anyone else doing it. I think the best thing they can do is bring in "new" faces/voices (besides the obvious good ones from the trilogy). I think part of the reason why I loved the trilogy so much was because I hardly knew ANYONE involved. And I wasn't alone. Many people asked, "Peter WHO?" when told an unknown Kiwi named Jackson would be directing three of the greatest literary works of all time. The same is true for the actors and artists. I had heard of Elijah Wood, but never saw any of his movies. And who the heck was Orlando Bloom? Orlando...I thought he was Hispanic! LOL!! Now he's Steven's favorite elf of all time!! ;D ;D Just kidding.

you really didn't know any of the singers? I mean Emiliana was pretty obscure but Annie and Enya are pretty well known/respected artists lol (though they originally wanted Bjork, who's much better known)
But I do agree that they were MORE obscure than like....top 40 artists So I wouldn't mind somebody I'm not too too familiar with

I really didn't listen to too much music back then. I think I had heard Enya's music, but I can't remember if I had actually heard her name. If you knew my childhood you'd understand.

I had a few ideas, but then I realized that they didn't really go for powerful voices as much as haunting voices - aside from Annie but that was the big final emotional song so powerfully haunting worked Though I do think they may not be as "depressing" songs per se, as the trilogys songs had a slight tendency to be just because it's a slightly less massive/dramatic tale

Never heard Adele before. I'm sure you're not surprised to hear that. lol My now ex co-worker loved to tease me about my lack of knowledge with bands and artists.

I'm sure nobody will know her, but if I'm thinking of somebody a little unconventional and (relativity) unknown I like this artist named Sia, and I think she'd do an amazing job she's an indie singer/songwriter and she has a very unique emotional voice
