From FotR, (book only) do you have a favourite poem or song that sticks out in your mind after reading the book? Or one that you like more then any other? ( If you can't remember feel free to go take a look through your book to refresh your memory!) My absolute favourite is the walking song... "The Road goes ever on and on....") Mostly because it is just so hobbit like ;D and it reflects on the plot. I also like it because of the fact that as the story progresses, so too does the poem, changing slightly in some way each time it is repeated, starting as(with Bilbo singing): (in the LotR, not The Hobbit) The Road goes ever on and on Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone, And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet, Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet. And whither then? I cannot say. And then the last time we hear it, Frodo is the one singing: (and yes I am typing the words for no reason other than my own satisfaction. ) Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate;
And though I oft have passed them by, A day will come at last when I
Shall take the hidden paths that run West of the Moon, East of the Sun. I just love it.... I still think Samwise should have been able to go west with his Frodo then, and not have to wait 61 years. That's another topic though..lol.

Yeah that's a great poem. I love it as well. Unfortunetly I don't have the book handy but I will probably call that my favorite anyway . And I also agree with how Sam should have been able to go to Valinor a lot earlier too, but at the same time he also had a LARGE family to raise with Rosie!! Remember, they had 13 kids, er Hobbits!! ~ Nienna
