Some may say everthing that goes wrong in the movie is Saurons fault, or Saruman's for betraying the good guys. And sure, they all have their part's in the greater bad But I'm watching The Two Towers again today, and it made me come to realise......It's all FARAMIR'S fault!! Now don't get me wrong I'm a huge Faramir fan, always wil be. But the entire reason Smeagol went back to Gollum, was because of what happened in Ithillen (or maybe this is just a personal view lol) If that didn't happen, he wouldn't have sidetracked them so close to Minas Morgul, they wouldn't have gone to Shelob's lair (well, they wouldn't have been like shanghai'd when they got there ) And they wouldn't have had to fight him for the ring once they GOT to Mt. Doom Just making an observation ;D

I guess that's one way of looking at it! Smeogol definitely went nuts after what happened when Faramir and his men captured him. Good observation! Isn't it amazing that after watching those movies 1,000,000,000,000 times you actually notice something new?? ;D (And I just noticed that Yahoo is doing that weird thing again where it's not telling me when someone posts, so I will have to see what I missed with the other ones. )

Poor Faramir. As if he wasn't blamed for so much by his own father, NOW even his biggest fans are accusing him of things he didn't even realize he was doing at the time! But here's a continuation of your theory...if we can blame Faramir for messing up Smeogol, and we can agree that Faramir acted this way because of orders given by his father and because he wished to earn his father's love (which, of course, was in vain), isn't it ALL Denethor's fault?? (And did anyone notice that we have something new under each post to tell us how many characters are remaining?? Who needs to be reminded!! )

(lol, all proboard forums upgraded to a new version, there's quite a few new things around, and quite a few more to happen in the near future.)
And in reality, the only reason that he was like that was because of the Palantir, which in the end goes back to Sauron!

ACTUALLY again lol Sauron kept going the evil route, because his Lord was Melkor, so it all goes back to the original evil!

I assume you're asking who Melkor was?
He was of the same order of the Valar and equal in power to Manwe(King of the Valar). He was power hungry, and basicly the original evil force that threatened Arda. And Sauron was his Maia. (Maia's were helpers to the Vala, they all had one or two)
You can probablly find more on him on wikipedia ;D
