Come on, admit it! You've actually camped outside the theater the night before one of the trilogy movies came out so that you were the first one to see it. Even if it wasn't necessary. Or you're the type to slap someone silly for trying to cut in line ahead of you in order to buy that Gollum mug you've had your eye on for months. But even if you're not the violent type or are just a whole lot calmer than the average rabid ringer (not suggesting that "rabid ringer" and "rabid fangirl" go hand in hand, because there is a difference...), no doubt at least once you've defended one of the Fellowship at one point or another. Or have been outraged to hear someone complain of the "lengthy" 3-hour movie and was beyond certain fury if someone, perhaps not thinking your loyality for the race would go so far, actually admitted to believing Elves were nothing more than the taller versions of Santa's helpers or even pixies. So do tell of the ignorance of your fellow mortal, and if you wish, share how you "avenged" their honor. Remember the wise words that have governed many a Ringer--"What would Gandalf do?"--and know that your loyalty is shared by many others. It doesn't have to be anything huge, monumental, or even funny (although those are nice too. ;D) Just perhaps a situation that you found yourself defending Lord of the Rings to someone who should not have spoken against Tolkien's masterpiece. ---- I'll start. My sister chose to watch the Yankees game (which could so easily have been taped to watch later) instead of seeing "The Fellowship of the Ring" when it was on TV last week and threw a fit when I stood by my decision to watch it on the same TV she wanted to watch her baseball. I was eventually banished to the basement for my efforts, but at least I got to watch it. For all the love my parents say they have for the movies, they too actually sided with baseball. What a travesty.

..........I'm uh, I'm a little calmer a crazed ringer then that REALLY? That's ok, me too. lol Amen! You know it! (except Legolas ) I figured you might say that. Just be careful. Because just as there is a huge difference between the rabid ringer and the rabid fangirl, so is there a huge difference between Legolas and (twitch) Orlando Bloom. PREACH it sister Nienna!! I try, I try. ;D ---- I was there when Nienna's story happened, I lived it........over facebook LOL!! That reminds me of an article I read in a magazine once. Inside joke, so it wouldn't be funny unless you already knew it. Just know that it's funny. ;D I'll get some of my own storys soon ;D Can't wait!

*GASP!!* My mom saw me watching The Two Towers the other day and she said, "It's on again?? I think you've seen it enough." INSOLENCE!!!! I will not have that talk in the same room as me! After I banished her from my sight forever (or at least until dinner was ready ), I continued to watch the movie and enjoy it all the more, knowing that I would not be interrupted the same way again. Oh I do believe people are not as devoted to the movies as they once were. Now only the most dedicated of us remain! May our reign span eternity! ;D

My Grandma's husband tried watching them once, and he said he got wayy to confused and that he won't try to finish that one, or watch the others. But after a while I convinced him that he HAS to watch them. So he said he would, only if I watch them with him and explain everything as it happens Which I may do anyway lol

Well, everyone has to start somewhere. I'm glad that he is at least giving them another try! I know that I was confused the first time I saw them! But the more he watches, the more he'll learn. ;D I have a long, vertical LotR poster on my closet...it's been there for about four years or so. One day when I woke up, I almost had a cow when I saw that someone had poked a sizable hole (not really THAT big, but to a crazed ringer like me, it was HUGE!!! ) into the poster where people are supposed to open the closet. Part of the poster is covering it, so someone had to be dumb and still try to use it. Everyone in the household got a tongue-lashing that day, let me tell ya.

We've been in this house for little over a year, half our stuff is STILL in boxes, and I have no clue where half of my LotR stuff is! Including my poster! Thank God I found Minas Tirith though, I put too much work into getting that statue to lose it I do know that the poster has a rip in it towards the bottom, left I think? It was a RotK poster....not the normal theatrical one. It was...hold on let me find a pic of it online... Found one ;D

Oooo I REALLY like that one!! ;D I haven't gotten a new LotR poster since I was in college. ---------------- This is the poster that I was talking about above. ;D It is my precious. When I was looking for a picture of it on EBAY, it said that this poster in particular is called a "Rare Door Poster"...not sure if the person selling it labeled it as that or if, indeed, it is rare. I hope it is. It'd mean I have a collector's item. Too bad it has a hole in it. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr... ~~~~~~~~ This is another one I had on my wall back in college. I LOVED this one because I got a little of each of the Fellowship. ;D And I placed it purposely on the wall in front of my bed so that it would be the first thing I saw every morning when I woke up. ~~~~~ And like you, Shadow, I have so many of my LotR things that are still buried with my stuff. Some from college, some from my internship in PA, and still others from when I went off to Montana. I had almost forgotten about this particular poster that I recieved as a Christmas present four years ago. And I'm sure you especially love this one. ;D

My parents didn't beleive me when I told them they're making another movie based on JRR Tolkien! They didn't sound too happy about it. My complaint is that people are saying horrible things about the movies when they haven't even happened yet! They should be supporting the director more.

My latest rant is that people who claim to supposedly be fans of the original movies don't even know that the Hobbit movies are coming out!!! What the heck?! Another thing that I have to confess is that there just doesn't seem to be very much merchandise out there anymore pertaining to the trilogy. I mean, come on...there are a ton of us loyal subjects left to snatch up the latest cloak and/or special edition Gandalf watch. So what's left for us? Must we wait until the new movies come out until we see their faces advertised in magazines again??

Not done much crazed stuff, but I freaked out my classmates a bit once, when people were having a shout-across-the-room discussion about something in LotR...
After a few minutes I jumped up, screamed "GGGGGGRRRRRRAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!" in frustration, producing my copy of RotK from inside a pocket (I know, right?), flicked to the page, found the quote and
"THERE! ARE YOU HAPPY NOW?!"
I silenced them gooooooooood.
Sheer luck I had brought it in to read in the library after school that day. ^^
