I just received a packet in the mail telling me that… #big20announcement# “You have been nominated for a Youth Volunteer Service Award for your outstanding volunteer efforts to the residents of our Insert Town here community. These awards will be presented at our 21e Annual Youth Awards Dinner of Friday evening, April 21st, 2006 at The Insert Town here Golf Club.”
#hyperblowfish_smilie#
Now I need to call the Youth Bureau and confirm that I got this, fill out everything I did last year, and give Reference Packets out to three people I’ve worked with! And I need to have it all sent in my March Third at noon! #passout_smilie# Ok, just wanted to tell ya’ll. Bye, yay! ;D

That's great!!! That's quite an accomplishment and when you go to college you could definetely look into some sort of scholarship for your volunteer service!! Colleges LOVE to see that you do those types of things. Not to mention it's just great that you're putting yourself out there to help people. So I salute you, Shadow! Keep up the great work!! ;D

#passout_smilie# ;D lol yay duckie!!! *hugs* That is too awesome!! I've not gotten any awards (I'm more a 'community terror' than anything lol ), but I've gotten some of the ones for academic acheivement, blah, blah blah. Getting those things are fuuuun lol ;D!! I got some like that: ~ I was placed on the National Honor Roll for 2004~ I got this one from The Junior Statesmen Summer School:'Dear Kimberlin, Congradulations! Because of your academic achievements and interest in American politics, we would like to offer you a unique and challenging opportunity - a chance to attend The Junior Statesmen Summer School. Each year, selected student leadera from across the nation attend sessions of the Summer Scholl at top universities, including Princeton, Yale, Northwestern, Stanford, and Georgetown (located at the heart of American government in Washington, D.C.).
At a Junoir Statesmen Summer School you will challenge yourself intellectually, immerse yourself inpolitics, get a sneak preview of college life and make friends with other outstanding highschool students.'(Yada, yada, yada.... my friend was like 'yeah, notice, they're sending you to summer school lol'. I was like 'oh shut up I hate you too' ) ~And this one from the Congressional Student Leadership Conference (CSLC): 'Dear Kimberlin, On behalf of our Board of Directors and Honorary Board of Advisors, we are pleased to inform you of your selection to attend a LeadAmerica 2006 youth leadership conference. This selection is in recognition of your academic achievement, involement in extracurricular activities, and leadership potential.
LeadAmerica sponsors college-accredited, academic-based leadership programs for our world's most promising young leaders. Each conference is presented by a distinguished facility and combines challegning academics with hands-n experential learning. The programs inspire and empower you to reach your full leadership potential.'(My family assures me that everyone gets these things, but I like to go on believing it's because I'm special (and not just special ed lolol ). Sorry to brag on your thread honey lol ....)

I've always wanted to be able to write poetry...I'm pretty good at creative writing, but poetry you just have to have that certain knack...it's difficult so if you can pull it off and at the same time get some publications for it, more power to ya!! ;D
