- It's very important to have as much of the same team as possible, as they had on LotR
(John Howe, Richard Taylor, Howard Shore, WETA, etc.)
AGREED!!! They know their stuff, and they certainly will bring the same enthusiasm to the new movies as they did with the trilogy!! We wouldn't expect anything less, and I know they wouldn't give us anything less. ;D
[/li][li]That "without saying anything official" Andy Serkis and Ian McKellen are on board for the film
I couldn't imagine ANYONE else playing the part of Gandalf and Gollum. As awesome as Gandalf the White was, I will always think of him as Grey, so I'm very glad that we'll be seeing him as such again!! (Even if it is still "unoffical" right now)
[/li][li]He's prepared to move him and his family down to New Zealand for 4 Years
Now THAT'S dedication!!! He's prepared to make the ultimate sacrifice for the good of the movies. These movies will make history!!!!!
[/li][li]He wants to do as much "on location" shooting as possible, and doesn't like Over-using CGI
EXCELLENT!!! I remember that when trilogy was being made, I wanted to be an extra soooooooo badly...words cannot describe. And just imagine those spectacular landscapes they will capture...Mirkwood...Long Lake...I CAN'T WAIT!!! Those mountains will make Montana look like mere hills in comparison!!
[/li][li]The color palate will be more ‘golden’, a more wide-eyed world
(Which I think works, since it's a little less dark a mood then LotR is)
Probably a good idea, like you said. "The Hobbit" is a lot "happier" than LotR.
[/li][li]When it comes to the two films, it seems to me that he said
the first would be The Hobbit, and the second would bridge the gap
between The Hobbit and Fellowship of the Ring.
(But he'd rather it not be called a "bridge" film)
I wonder if that mean's we'd be seeing the White Council!!

I'm very happy with his decision to do this. We'll kinda know what to expect from the first movie because of the book, but as far as the second movie is concerned, (as for me) I know very little about that time in Tolkien's mythology so it'll be a surprise! And I'd love to see the White Council if they show it.
[/li][li]And this quote -
"When I become part of a world that I love, such as this, I really come with a lot of enthusiasm and hard work, and we know we are recreating and creating a world that is part of the mythos of millions of people and we will approach it as passionately and respectfully as it needs to be taken."

Ohhhhhhhhhhh I'm getting that crazy wonderful feeling in my stomach that I got the first time I saw Return of the King... ;D I was so depressed when the last installment of the trilogy came out...I thought I'd never see any new Tolkien films made by PJ. And now...Words cannot describe how excited I am about this. And as much as I'd love to see the films as soon as possible, these movies are very precious (pun intended), so they should take as long as possible with them. I've said it once, but I will say it again: These movies are going to make HISTORY!!!!

And just take a look at THIS picture!!! Peter Jackson looks so different...I hardly recognized him!!!
