I've never heard of any of them! And Peter Jackson isn't one of them!!! WHY? *screams to the heavens* WHY?Can't let go of my dream, even if it does seem impossible. ------ The links for The Wachowski Brothers and Michael Bay don't work for me. I honestly can't decide who I want to direct it. I know this is going to be really hard for me.

well no duh people would pick him but seeing as it's not likely, I made this poll to see what other directors people may like. (I fixed the link ) and did you CHECK the links to see the movies? You may not recognise them by name, but you really should know their work

True dat. Well, the Wachowski Brothers look kinda good because Andy did The Matrix (even though I didn't like the movies, they still were well made). Michael Bay did Armagedden? #passout_smilie# I LOVE THAT MOVIE!!!! OK, The Hobbit's going to be directed by Michael Bay. That's the final word on it. So it shall be written, so it shall be done!! #blowup0mg#

But are you sure the cinimatic style, and script would translate well into a Hobbit movie? Just because he did that kind of movie well, doesn't mean he'd be able to adapt the Hobbit ya know. Steven likes to make people think ;D (But biiiiig kudos on finaly being open minded to another director!)

Darn you for trying to make me into an intellectual. I'd rather let my brain go stagnant and useless. ;D Ok here's some thinking for ya: Michael Bay was able to handle such a huge movie as Armageddon, and remember how huge the Lord of the Rings movies were--PJ had never handled anything even close to that and he made the most impressive film trilogy of all time! I think he could do it! He gets my vote! ;D Now I think I will go tend my "Hobbit" Peter Jackson shrine in the corner of my room. ;D EDIT: It appears Michael Bay is winning by a landslide. ;D

+1 Wachowski Bros. Out of curiosity to see what they could do with something other than the Matrix (Hobbit trilogy anyone?)... and because I don't know recognize most of the others. Second choice to Guillermo del Toro after seeing Pan's Labyrinth.

Hey, Dinedhel! Since I never heard of any of the directors, I definitely had to check to see what movies they had made. I guess that whomever is eventually chosen to direct the movies, we're going to have to pray that they don't mess them up. I became very naive after seeing the LotR trilogy made by PJ...after that I just expected every single book turned into a movie to be just as fantastic. Then they turned Eragon in a movie...boy was I proven wrong.
