You're probably right about me not wanting to know. lol I can kinda see the Elf thing with the wig (and the DARK eyebrows which are so characteristic to Elves who have blond hair... ). Although I'm not too sure about him playing Thranduil. He doesn't really look like Legolas.

I worry more about him looking like an old, wise Mirkwood King, then Legolas' father

I agree with Twisted Shadow. They must make him look like he rules the ancient land of Mirkwood! He can resemble Legolas I guess, but a king first!

I've just been neglecting the whole "Will there be a movie at all?" thing lately. So casting really hasn't been on my mind either. Actually, I haven't been paying any attention to the trilogy either. I'm waiting for it to be on TNT again. There's something special about watching them on TV as opposed to from DVD. Except maybe the commercials.

GASP! I haven't seen that commercial yet! When's it supposed to be on? I've found that I only like to watch the trilogy when I'm with somebody. By myself, it's just so boring! No one to enjoy them with! You know? And I just checked Theonering.net and it says nothing (that I saw) about the status of the supposed 'Hobbit' movie. But I did see something about New Line merging with Warner Brothers. Interesting. I'm sure that it has nothing to do with the trouble with the 'Hobbit', but wouldn't it be funny if it did? New Line had trouble with PJ over that lawsuit, and now the Tolkien Estate. Now those are some people you don't want to mess with, much less get a bad reputation from.

Somebody asked Ian McKellen on his official site if he would be playing Gandalf, here's what he had to say -
"Yes I will, if Peter Jackson and I have anything to do with it, he being the producer and me being, on the whole, a very lucky actor. "

well it says that, but no real official statements have been made That's what's confusing...I guess that's just how positive McKellen is that there's be no problems
Orlando, Viggo, Cate, Elijah, and Christopher Lee have said they would come back too! So if we neen em, we have Legolas, Aragorn, Galadriel, Frodo, and Saruman ;D
Frodo is a no, Legolas we may be able to deal with in Mirkwood, Aragorn...that might actually be a possiblity, since he and Gandalf did have dealings together pre-LotR. And of course Galadriel and Saruman = White Council!! That would just leave Elrond that we need.
I really wouldn't want cast members tossed into the story just for the sake of having them there, you know?
